LAMPRE IS SYNONYMOUS WITH PRE-COATED STEEL.

The name itself derives from the abbreviation of LAMiere (“Steel” in Italian) and PREcoated, and indicates an industrial idea dedicated to continuous coating of hot-rolled steel.

Since the 1990s Lampre began its internationalization strategy aimed to get closer to local needs and to contain transport costs. The new production plant of Lampre Polska brings to seven the total number of lines, of which four are in Lampre Italy, one in Lampre Portuguesa and one in Lampre Benelux. The opening of Lampre Turçelik, the Turkish service center, and of Lampre USA, hub of distribution for North America, improve our ability to interpret the needs of a market in constant evolution. The two Italian services centers, Lamital and Lamfer, complete Lampre’s strategic investment goal which is dedicated to meeting the full needs of our customers.

The Lampre Industeel offices, near Mumbai, guarantee a strong presence of our products also in the Indian market.

The company dedicates to R&D 5% of our staff and more than 3% of the annual turnover, of which 40% is dedicated to the development of eco-sustainable products.

A CONSTANT GROWTH

Lampre Italy was established in 1975 in Usmate Velate, in Lombardy, the economic heart of Italy, where Romeo Mario Galbusera, still President, together with his uncle Attilio Magni, started his company in an area known for its strong presence of family businesses.

In 2012, the new green field investment of Lampre Polska, a production plant and service center in Kutno, came into operation, which will strengthen Lampre’s presence in the European market. In 2019, the opening of the Lampre Industeel offices near Mumbai confirmed our presence in the Indian market.

Despite a beginning characterized by economic hardships, winning strategic choices enabled the company’s immediate positioning into the niche high quality vinyl coated steel market . Soon a second laminating line was added, followed, in 1989, by the foundation of Lampre Portuguesa. In the same year Lamital service center, specialized in the cutting and marketing of steel products, was opened. In the early 1990s Lampre enters the business of rolled coated steel, thus installing the third coating line followed, in 1997, by Lamfer, the new service center. In the same period the important phase of the internationalization of Lampre begins; a phase that culminates in 2009 with the beginning of the activity of Lampre USA, hub of distribution for the North America, followed in 2010 by Lampre Turçelik services center, located in Istanbul. In 2012 the new green field investment of Lampre Polska will be operative with a production facility and service center in Kutno that will strengthen the presence of Lampre in the European market.
